Pulicon Poster 2018

Comic Events & Activities

Saturday, May 5, 2018
10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Meet local writers and artists at PuliCon, the Puyallup Public Library’s comic convention. We’ll have vendors, speakers, games, an artist's alley and more! And be sure not to miss our Free Comic Book Day table!

Join us for a variety of panels about comics, fan culture, and meet an author! These panels are free, open to all ages, and no registration is required. Information about the day's panels will be updated as we get closer to PuliCon.

Artist Alley

PuliCon features local creators who specialize in art and items that celebrate geeky culture.

Are you interested in participating in our Artists Alley? Download the Artist Alley Application and Guidelines, as well as the Vendor License Agreement, and submit them to the library for consideration. We have limited space to feature artists at our event and cannot guarantee that all applicants will receive a space. There is no table fee. Application deadline is Friday, April 20, 2018.

Stop by the Library and choose from a wide selection of comics for Free Comic Book Day. We'll have a little something for everyone. While we can't guarantee that we'll have every title available, click here to see a list of the comics that publishers are releasing for this year's event.

Treat your inner comic book fan to series like Avengers, RWBY, Doctor Who, PokémonMy Hero AcademiaLegend of Korra, or DC's Super Hero Girls, just to name a few of the titles we’ll have available. Supplies are limited, so visit us early for the best selection.

Free Comic Book Day Partner

This event is generously sponsored by the Friends of the Puyallup Public Library. We partner with Fantasium Comics (1500 South 336th Street, Suite 12A, Federal Way, WA 98003). Visit the Free Comic Book Day to learn more.

The first Free Comic Book Day was held in 2002 and the event has continued to grow over the years. We are proud to take part in this program, which gives away millions of comic books to interested readers every year.

The comic format can encourage readers of all ages and interests, providing quality literature as well as a gateway for reluctant readers. Comics can cross cultural boundaries in a way that most prose works do not. The Puyallup Public Library offers comic collections for children, teens, and adults, as well as titles studying the value of reading comics.
