Anime Idol Marathon

Grab a seat for an anime marathon that's all about aspiring idols and their music. In Japanese pop culture, an idol is a type of celebrity known for their upbeat songs and fan-following. We'll have snacks and crafts while we watch a selection of anime throughout the day.

Virtual Reality Rocks

Virtual reality and crafting collide! Try out Oculus Rift, a virtual reality simulator, and explore different apps. And if you're feeling crafty, make a miniature work of art by painting a rock. 

Participants using Oculus Rift must be 13+ years old and fill out a release form. Ages 13-17 require a parent's signature. Forms may be obtained on our website or at the event.

Build Your Own Terrarium

Build a custom terrarium and decorate it in the style of your favorite fandom. Supplies will be provided by the library, but feel free to bring any succulents or personal supplies that you would like to use.

How Do I Podcast?

Learn about the art of podcasting from Merri and Missy from Fake Geek Girls, a podcast all about comics, games, movies and books. They'll talk about practical information, equipment, and safety, and then guide us through recording a short episode. 

This program is for teens and adults. 

Happy Trees & Monstrosities

4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Take a tired old painting and make it about a million times better...by monsterizing it! The library will supply the paintings: classic landscapes, portraits, and more. You can make them amazing by adding a monster or your own sense of style. Want to see examples? Check out this article

Strictly Ballroom & Moana

Enjoy the dance competition comedy Strictly Ballroom (PG) or sing along with Moana (PG) at this mini-movie marathon, featuring MuVChat. Bring your phone and make up your own commentary with texts that appear on the big screen.
