Vacancies on Lodging Tax Advisory Committee

Persons interested in serving in a voluntary capacity on Puyallup's Lodging Tax Advisory Committee are encouraged to submit an application on or before Friday, March 3rd.

The lodging tax, also referred to as the hotel-motel tax, is a tax on lodging charges for hotels, motels, rooming houses, private campgrounds, RV parks, and similar facilities. Lodging tax revenues must be used for activities and operations designed to increase tourism. The role of Puyallup's Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is to receive and review all applications for lodging tax revenue, and make funding recommendations to the City Council for final determination.

The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee consists of seven members: the mayor of Puyallup; three persons representing entities which collect the lodging tax; and three persons representing entities which receive revenues from the tax.

The form used to apply to serve on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee can be found here.  Applications must be submitted no later than 5:00 p.m., March 3, 2017 to the City Clerk’s Office, 333 South Meridian, Puyallup, Washington 98371 (no postmarks will be accepted).  Please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 253-841-5480 for more information.
