Puyallup utility customers may leave up to three extra bags of garbage for curbside pickup on their regular garbage pickup day the week of May 1st. The garbage must be in covered cans or garbage bags and should not weigh more than 40 pounds. Tires will not be accepted.
Customers may also leave up to three extra containers of yard waste at the curb on their regularly scheduled yard waste service day the week of May 1st. Use garbage cans or bio-degradable lawn waste bags. Containers should not exceed 40 pounds and should be placed at the curb before 7 a.m.
This is also the time when customers can recycle one major appliance at no charge. Secure the doors of the appliance and leave it at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on Monday, May 1st.
Appliances eligible for recycling are: Refrigerator, freezer, stove/range, furnace, dryer, hot water tank, washer, dishwasher, trash compactor.

The outdoor lahar warning sirens in the Puyallup valley area are tested at 12:00 noon on the first Monday of every month. The sirens will wail for approximately two to five minutes during the testing. In a real emergency the sirens will continue to cycle on and off.
