  1. Spring Clean-Up Services (Extra Garbage and Yard Waste; Recycle Major Appliances)

    May 1, 2017 - May 5, 2017

    Puyallup utility customers may leave up to three extra bags of garbage for curbside pickup on their regular garbage pickup day the week of May 1st. The garbage must be in covered cans or garbage bags and should not weigh more than 40 pounds. Tires will not be accepted. Customers may also leave up to three extra containers of yard waste at the curb on their regularly scheduled yard waste service day the week of May 1st. Use garbage cans or bio-degradable lawn waste bags. Containers should not exceed 40 pounds and should be placed at the curb before 7 a.m. This is also the time when customers can recycle one major appliance at no charge. Secure the doors of the appliance and leave it at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on Monday, May 1st. Appliances eligible for recycling are: Refrigerator, freezer, stove/range, furnace, dryer, hot water tank, washer, dishwasher, trash compactor.

    Blending myth and science, live music and visuals, Dr. Bill Thomas’ Changing Aging Tour is a modern day American Chautauqua barnstorming the country in a rock n’ roll tour bus to bring communities a new understanding of aging. Featuring two theater performances: “Disruptive Dementia” in the afternoon and evening performance of “Life’s Most Dangerous Game.” The Puyallup Area Aging in Community Committee invites you to join us Tuesday, May 2 at Pierce College in Puyallup to experience a new and highly disruptive understanding of aging, in celebration of Older American’s Month and Puyallup’s Age-friendly initiative, part of the World Health Organization (WHO) global network.
