The Public Works Department serves the citizens of Puyallup by providing a safe environment and enhanced quality of life through care and improvement of public infrastructure. The department serves a population of over 41,000 residents, and includes:

Maintenance and Operations

The Maintenance and Operations division is comprised of 2 primary functions:

  • Field operations includes:
    • Storm drainage
    • Street maintenance
    • Wastewater treatment
    • Water services (domestic, commercial, fire flow)
  • Fleet Maintenance is responsible for the city's vehicles and most major equipment (This includes purchasing and repairing vehicles and equipment)

Capital Engineering

Capital Engineering provides engineering review and direction for water, sewer, street and stormwater systems, and all major public capital projects.
