Counselor in Training (CIT) Program

CIT

Become a Counselor in Training: Ages 13 - 15

Our popular Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) program has been revamped for summer 2022 with the goal in mind to help prepare 13-15-year-olds for future jobs and the hiring process. Here is how the program will work:

1. Fill out an application and email it back before the May 15, 2022, deadline. This must be in your own words, no help from parents or someone else, please.

2. Attend a zoom informational meeting on Tuesday, May 24 from 5-6 pm. Parents are welcome to attend. We will be going over the expectations of CITs, weeks of camp, how to sign up and pay $25 per week, etc.

3. Group interviews on Tuesday, May 31 from 5-6 pm. We want to get to know applicants: why do you want to volunteer at camp? What are your future goals? We will also ask a few situational questions to see where your experience level is for better training options.

4. If selected, CIT training will be held on Tuesday, June 14 from 5-6:30 pm. We will be going over the rules of camp, situations, and scenarios to better prepare for summer.

Please keep in mind that the program is limited and not all applicants are guaranteed participation in the CIT program. If selected, weekly reviews will be conducted with each CIT and goals must be met to continue the program. We are looking for participants who are responsible with a good work ethic. You will be asked to lead campers in games, songs, crafts, and more. If you are passionate about day camp and want to be a helpful leader then email Annamarie for an application.
