What Is Annexation?
The State of Washington’s Growth Management Act establishes cities as the preferred provider of urban services. Under this Act, the City has worked with Pierce County to define an Urban Growth Area that includes enough area for the City of Puyallup to grow for the next 20 years.
Periodically, citizens approach the City to annex their property into the City limits. Planning Staff works with property owners in potential annexation areas to assign zoning and meet the County’s process requirements.
As these annexations progress, information is provided on the City's website for notification purposes, including Public Hearing information.
