A winter storm is expected to bring more snow and continued cold along with high winds to Western Washington beginning Friday, February 8th through Saturday.
Widespread snowfall of up to 12 inches is expected in the lowland areas, resulting in hazardous travel conditions. Power outages may be experienced in some areas.
In the interest of public safety and welfare, the City of Puyallup will close all non-essential facilities at midday on Friday, February 8th. These include all parks and trails, the Municipal Court, City Hall, the Puyallup Library, Woodbine Cemetery, the Activity Center and the Recreation Center. All recreational and other scheduled activities at these facilities have been cancelled from midday Friday through the end of the weekend.
Roads will be treated and cleared as staff and resources allow, on a pre-determined priority level basis. In the event of icy conditions, we encourage everyone to stay off the roads as much as possible.
Weather permitting, all facilities may re-open and resume normal operations on Monday morning. Residents are asked to confirm operating hours using the phone numbers listed below:
