The city is removing the sidewalks on the west and south sides of the Jack-in-the-Box property located at 705 S. Meridian between Meridian and 3rd St. SW (aka the bypass) to improve public safety.
Both Meridian and the bypass are high-volume roads with multiple lanes. In the interest of safety, pedestrian access is not allowed across Meridian or the bypass where these two streets intersect. Pedestrians should instead use the marked crosswalks at Meridian & 7th, the bypass & 7th, and Meridian & 9th.
The removed sidewalks will be replaced with grass to match the existing landscaping. The sidewalk along 7th on the north side of the property will remain.
