[ARCHIVED] Van Lierop Park Ribbon-Cutting

daffodils

Join us on Monday, June 24th at 4:00 as we cut the ribbon on Puyallup's newest community amenity, Van Lierop Park.

Van Lierop Park was named to honor the legacy of the Van Lierop family who farmed this Puyallup valley property for generations. The City acquired 24 acres in late 2015; six acres were subsequently sold to the nonprofit Step by Step. The remaining 18 acres will be preserved as open space and park land.

Phase 1 of Van Lierop Park is now complete. In this first phase, a view corridor was established to showcase the property’s spectacular sightline to Mount Rainier. A loop trail connects to the Foothills Trail; in tribute to the flowers that were grown here for decades, the trail is bordered by blooming daffodils in the spring. A parking lot was also installed.

Address: 3401 8th Ave. SE
